I am a lucky person, I grew up in North Dakota in a blue-collar farm family.  I got a great public-school eductation and had the opportunity to attend both public and private colleges in the state.  My career has benefited from a healthy and diverse economy.  I've never been without health benefits.  I've had the privelege to have lived on the shores of one of the area's most beautiful lakes.  Often, I've wanted to pay less in taxes, but I'm willing to pay my share for a state that gives every boy and girl, woman and man in Minnesota the oportunities I have enjoyed.

We have major problems facing our state and nation in the near future.  We need children ready to start school. We need more college graduates to create a globally competitive workforce.  We need new transportation alternatives for people trapped in cars with the ever-increasing gas bills.  We need basic health insurance for the 60,000 children in our state whose parents can't afford it.  Our environment needs protection so that we can enjoy sustainable growth long after I have paid my last tax.

These are serious problems and we need to invest in a healthy community where the benefits of economic growth is available to everyone.  Some people are seeking a fair and disciplined long term-term investment strategy that works for Minnesotans.  We are talking about more tax dollars, collected differently.  Will it come from the upper-income families or the lower to middle income Minnesotans.

Well by not being involved in Politics, I believe the ones who are going to be paying for the things we need will be the uniformed and the young people who don't want to become involved in politics.  So when your pay check is less, you have no one to blame but yourselves.

My generation is involved in politics and we will vote for laws that will require you to pay!!!

What can you do?  Get involved!!!
