I received this email from a friend of mine and thought it is very important to get the word out, this appears to be happening in Mpls/St Paul area, however, it can happen anywhere.

This is real & gaining popularity as a form of criminal attack and
(
thankfully) being reported more often all over the country, including
MN. (By thankfully, I mean more people than ever are reporting these
incidents so something can actually be done about it). Happening most
often in Mpls., St. Paul & our metro suburbs. These are rapists.

Anytime you leave your vehicle - to run into the store, the mall, work,
gas station, your home, bookstore, coffee shop - ANYWHERE - PLEASE DO
NOT STOP or acknowledge ANYONE approaching/stopping you saying that you had dropped the money they are holding.

Offenders have been reported as holding a five to a twenty-dollar bill
each time. Offenders thus far have been reported as white, black and
Hispanic.

They are approaching women entering establishments/homes, and also when
exiting. Offenders are knocking on car windows telling the female that
the female had dropped the money the attackers are raising to the
window and when the female rolls down the window down to retrieve $$
and thank the attackers, the males grab the females by the neck with one
hand, unlock the door and drag the female out of the vehicle. Some
attackers have been reported to work in pairs.

Why are women falling for this? What kinder gesture is there than
returning money that someone has dropped?

South Minneapolis, 645 pm Friday night, a clean cut male approached a
woman in her locked vehicle who had just come out of  a coffee
establishment. He raised a $10 to her window & said she dropped it. She
said she did not, as she had no cash. He began screaming at her to open
the door, pounding on the window & trying to gain entry. The woman drove
away & called 911 immediately. Thankfully her door was locked. (Many
people still do not immediately lock their doors when they get in their
vehicles)

Maple Grove, 210 pm Saturday afternoon, a woman was violently attacked
as she accepte d a $20 from attacker in a Cub foods parking lot. (She
was pushing a shopping cart to her car).

Hopefully this will not happen to you or anyone you know, but PLEASE,
if it does, PLEASE REPORT IT.

There has been no evidence of forced entry to homes or vehicles, so it
is assumed that the homes/vehicles were unlocked, or windows are rolled
down by women to retrieve the money or reject it - but to thank the>
males for retrieving it. (We are polite, aren't we?)

The offenders are bold and smart - attacking during the day when our
guard is down.

I know this is long, but in 90 days, it's been *reported in Minneapolis
(3); St. Paul (2); Roseville (2); Maple Grove (1); Edina (2); St. Louis
Park (1); Burnsville (1); Bloomington (2); Duluth (1); Maplewood,
Plymouth, Eden Prairie (#'s unavailable). (*Reported cases only - stats
unavailable for actual # of instances)

Thanks for reading & pls be alert,
