Water recreation is an active part of living on a lake lifestyle. Whether a graceful glide to one of the lakeside restaurants for dinner, a moonlight cruise, adventure or Fourth of July fireworks ride.
Imagine yourself moving quickly and quietly from cove to cove, with sunlight bouncing off the water, the sounds of seagulls calling, waves gently lapping against the hull of your sleek vessel.
You reach for your camera to take a photo of the scenery and admire the view, under way all the while. Ahead you spy a group of canoeing and kayakers heading along the same course. Within minutes your waterbike catches up, you exchange greetings, and effortlessly pass by.
Soon you are headed for the remote island camp grounds near the outer reaches of the lake. This is the kind of freedom previously available only in your dreams!
A watercyle called the Hydrobike, developed about 15 years ago consist of a bicycle frame mounted above two long pontoons. They are strictly a human-powered watercraft. When the rider pedals, a chain drive turns a propeller. The craft steers like a bicycle, with the handlebars turning a front-mounted rudder. Each Hydrobike has a lever for bringing its prop out of the water so it can be cleaned.
Unpadded seats are adjustable to compensate for riders of different heights. Climb aboard and your weight is naturally centered between the pontoons, producing a very stable ride.
"It's like riding a bike on the water. This watercycle is the ultimate in pedal powered-human powered watercraft. With little effort you can cruise at 5 miles per hour. They can easily be ridden in even the windiest and waviest conditions. Hydrobikes are quiet, nonpolluting, environment-friendly water vehicles.
They are virtually impossible to tip over and they are GREAT for fishing. You can stand on one of the pontoons and fish all day. Its computer designed propulsion system makes the Hydrobike GO, GO, and GO.
The EXPLORER can easily be transported.
NOTE: The propeller drive train should be fastened in the UP position for transporting.
In general, there are three ways to transport your EXPLORER.

Hydrobikes have provided our owners with many hours of healthy exercise and enjoyment. Hydrobikes are also a big hit on lakes, you can expect to meet many new friends on your hydrobike rides.
Purchasing the Explorer Hydrobike will rank among the best purchases that you will ever make. Keeping fit was never so easy and so much fun. This is real off-road biking, with the whole lake, river, or shoreline at your feet. Hydrobikes are designed and built to perform virtually maintenance-free, season after season. It’s an investment you and your family will never stop enjoying. It’s free-spirited fun for every age, from 8 to 80.
One of our satisfied customers said: “We were motivated to purchase the hydrobike for the enjoyment of our grandchildren who had reached the age at which our paddle boat had become “boring”. We have had the hydrobike for 3 years, and our grandchildren still can’t wait to visit grandma and grandpa to ride the hydrobike.”
Another satisfied customers said: “To our surprise, my wife and I have also found the hydrobikes much more enjoyable to ride than a paddle boat. My wife was diagnosed as a borderline type II diabetic, and I had a quadruple heart bypass. To improve our health we both exercise regularly now and watch our diet.
The hydrobikes have provided us with many hours of healthy exercise and enjoyment. The hydrobikes are also a big hit on our lakes. We and our grandchildren have met many new friends on our hydrobike rides.
It is easy to make modifications to fit your lifestyle. I have made some modifications for local conditions, some storage pouches, rod holders, anchorage line (a dog leash), etc. Only major change was adding a set of 12” wheels, removeable or reversable, for transporting it where no shore access is available.
Hydro-Bikes are simply wonderful water vehicles. You can ride your Hydro-Bikes every chance you get. You can enjoy just cruising along side of each other, talking and looking at the wildlife. You will be amazed at how easy the Hydro-Bikes are to pedal.
Just a minimum amount of effort really moves you over the water. They are very much like riding a mountain bike or road bike (without the fear of getting run over by a car). Cruising past canoes and kayaks while hardly working gave a clear indication of their efficiency.
It is also very nice to be able to stand and stretch, which is hard to do in a kayak." I would highly recommend the Hydro-Bike to anyone that wants a great personal watercraft to enjoy as well as getting excellent exercise in the process.
Another great feature of the Hydro-Bikes is how stable they are in the water. Many people are afraid of most boats, but you can be assured that the HydroBike is completely safe because of its stability in the water.

Want to stop fishing from shore? Are you under the impression that fishing from a boat is too expensive for your current budget? Think again.
"The Hydrobike Sport" is a platform bolted onto two pontoons made from molded polyethylene.
The platform is made of powder coated aluminum and provides a very sturdy place to stand or sit and cast for your favorite fish.
Although it comes with oars that easily push "The Hydrobike Sport" wherever you want it to go, you may opt to install a trolling motor and use that for propulsion. The trolling motor pushes "The Hydrobike Sport" with incredible ease, and much to everyone’s delight, quite a bit of speed. It comes with a very comfortable swivel seat that is quite nice to fish from.
When you hook your first bass, about a three pounder, you may be concerned about getting it onto the boat. Coming from the side will require you to hoist it above the pontoon, but if you bring it in from the front where it easily slide onto the deck of the "Sport".
When you return to the landing, you can easily grab the "Hydrobike Sport" by the two handles and drag it up to the trailer. You can chose to leave your "Hydrobike Sport" intact, by utilizing a flat bed trailer for hauling rather than tearing it down and putting it in your truck. It really does only take about five minutes to tear it down and it will fit inside a 2000 Chevy Tahoe, however it does require a little work to put it back together. It's not hard, just bulky.
Overall, "The Hydrobike Sport" is a perfect boat for this particular application. The price tag is very reasonable, and it will stand the test of time, and as a fisherman you will get your money out of it. If you have a small pond you like to fish or a body of water that you can really only get to by foot, you may want to consider a HydroBike "Sport".

Hydrobikes, a fun alternative to boats, kayaks, paddle boats, fast pedal boats,
water toys, lake toys, small fishing boats, personal water craft.
Sleeking into a haven at sunset or first light of day and silently observing waterfowl and movements of the deep with less disturbance than that of a paddle, gives both pleasure to the soul and a feeling of one with nature.
Yet, comfortably perched on the seat of your HydroBike, your visibility is greater than in a canoe, or kayak and there is less chance of a backache, cramped legs or a spill. Therefore, street clothes can be worn without fear of getting wet.
Totally portable, this 10-foot lightweight craft can fit into most mini-vans, and SUV's. One person can assemble and dissassemble the unit without any tools, and slip it into the water at almost any location. It is ideal for narrow or shallow water and operates in less than one foot of water.
If the drive train encounters rocks or sand, it automatically pivots up and over the obstacle. You can even pedel right up onto the beach without damaging the propeller or rudder. The hydrobike is appropriately named the Explorer" and is available in both single and 2-person configurations.
*****LifeTime Guarantee on the motor*****
Traveling at a norma speed of 3-5 miles an hour, this is not a boring slow paddleboat. Peak speeds can reach as high as 10 miles per hour, if your motor is properly conditioned. Did I mention "you" are the motor?
The hydrobike's computer-designed propulsion system features a 90% efficient propeller with full camber and twist. The lower drive train is sealed watertight, providing protection even in salty seawater. Only the chain requires annual maintenance with an environmentally friendly lubricant.
Keeping fit was never so easy and so much fun. Designed for the free spirit from 8 to 80 years of age, the human powered motor lasts a lifetime, as long as you can make it to a lake, river, bay or ocean. Engineered for a safe reliable ride, the 55" wide unit is surprisingly smooth riding in choppy water and is exceptionally seaworthy, even in a 5-foot ocean swell.
*****Fishing for compliments*****
In fact, because of it's unique stability, the hydrobike makes an ideal platform from which to fly-cast into your favorite fishing hole. A special fishing rod holder has been molded into the body of the bike, along with a spot for your favorite beverage and a compartment for clothes or fishing gear. Cast your line out and slowly troll along with the quietest motor on the water.
But, your hydrobike does not have to be all peace and quiet. With its 400 pound rider and cargo capacity, it is stable enough to dive from and can quickly convert into a swim platform for all the kids in the neighborhood, you included. While it has been manufactured for over 13 years, it is still a showstopper and a great conversation piece.
It is a great ice-breaker for meeting new acquaintances at marinas. They love the feel of the bike and can't quite believe how easy it is to peddle and maneuver. If you want off-the-road biking, this craft is the ultimate in peace and tranquility.
*****Converts to a Duck Blind*****
