We made it to Washington yesterday. We only traveled 200 miles to get here from Missoula MT. It was a nice break after two 500 mile days in a row to get across North Dakota and Montana.
We all enjoyed Medora and am now nestled in the Rocky Mountains. It sure is beautiful up here.
Today we travel to Cascade Locks Oregon. It is just to the East of Portland near Mt. Hood. I-90 goes to Seattle and that is the road we are on now. I-84 goes to Portland, so we need to go about 75 miles South on a non-interstate road. I hear it is a little steep and windy so we will be slowing down quite a bit.
Liz just focuses on the back of the trailer as we drive through the steep parts of the mountains. Tracey lets her know what not to look at as she's driving. It hasn't seemed that big a deal so far to me, but I've driven through the mountains before and am kinda used to looking over a cliff as I'm driving.
The camper and trailer have been working out great. I am really surprised at how comfortable the truck camper is for sleeping. Liz, I and the kids have slept there every night so far. Mike and Tracey's new trailer has been great too. Everything works!!! I'll be teaching Brody how to unhook everything and set it back up today. That way he can keep an eye on Mike when they use the trailer next.
Coffee's calling so we'll check in later with more news.
PS Tracey's camera takes great little videos but they are not compatible with this server. I'll post links to our media server. The first is at http://capitalcare.info/oregon/buffalo.mov
